The Time Traveler

The time traveler is a mysterious individual with an unknown agenda who (obviously) possesses some means of traveling through time. In the year 999, he paid a visit to Godwin the Wise at Kale's Tree in Hinkerville to sell a magic bracelet with limited time-travel powers to Godwin for the promise of 900 lime at some future date. This was allegedly in fulfillment of an agreement that he and Godwin were to make in the future. Before leaving, the time traveler made a vague reference to the Frigid Doom that was soon to befall Hinkerville. The time traveler was next encountered by Godwin and company in the year 3270, shortly after the latter had been thawed out from their millennia-long stint frozen in ice. Godwin was at this moment unexpectedly coming into a considerable sum of money, and the time traveler showed up to collect his payment--which was duly given.

Some months later, Darff came in to possession of the present-day copy of the above-mentioned time travel bracelet (as distinct from Godwin's from-the-future copy). Shortly thereafter, a Darff from the near future appeared to inform Darff that he would shortly encounter the time traveler and that the latter would charge the currently inert bracelet for him in return for a service performed by him and his companions. The next day, the company encountered the time traveller as a captive aboard a zephyrcraft with which they had hostile dealings. In due course, the time traveler was freed, and he duly charged the bracelet in repayment of this deed.
