The Divine Kale

The Divine Kale is a mysterious god who takes the (somewhat idealized) physical form of--and uses the name of--a mortal human named Kale Ecuttel. The mortal Kale is himself worshipped as a god by members of the Kaleist religion, and there is some evidence that this religion has been encouraged by The Divine Kale, who--for example--is known to answer the prayers of and power the spells of the Kaleist theurge Merri Roundbottom. There is also some dispute as to whether or not the mortal and divine Kales are really two distinct entities (as maintained by the mortal Kale himself) or just two incarnations of one god (as maintained by Merri Roundbottom). The dispute is, however, not widespread among the Kaleists, most of whom are unware of it. The Divine Kale, however, does have at least one worshipper and theurge--Godwin the Wise--who believes that the two Kales are completely distinct entities and who does not worship the mortal Kale (though they are good friends).
