Spending Experience Points
During character advancement, experience points are spent exactly as they're spent during character creation. To summarize the costs of purchasing different things with experience points:
- Attributes: racial multiplier (8 for humans) x the rating being attained (must be only one higher than current level);
- Skills: the rating being attained (must be only one higher than current level);
- Action Point Slots: 8 x the rating being attained (must be only one higher than current level);
- Action Points : 6 per point replenished;
- Extraordinary Abilities: each spell or similar is learned as a Skill; cost is the rating being attained x a number determined based on spell potency (usually between 1 and 5);
- Idiosyncrasies: variable (usually between 1 and 42 depending on quality — note that players receive, not lose, points for taking Drawbacks);
- Appearance Rating: cost is 8 per level moved up from base level; reward is 8 per level moved down (ie, going from Ugly to Unattractive costs 8, going from Ugly to Common costs 16, and so on).
