Physical Description / Attire
| Darff is an average looking human male. In fact, were it not for the fact that he now travels with a group of interesting adventurers, he would be completely indistinguishable from any NPC guard you may see. He has recently acquired a giant Hammer which he keeps strapped to his back, and is slowly transitioning from his stolen guard uniform to a set of gray clerics robes and a ridiculously pointy hat. |
Concept
| The MacGuffins have long been a family of guards. Flux MacGuffin (Darff's father) served the Neutralia guard. He was killed killed by a group of wandering adventurers. Klemp MacGuffin (Darff's grandfather) was a sergeant in the Castle Insomnia royal guard. He was killed by an assembly of traveling privateers. Krumb MacGuffin (Darff's great-Grandfather) worked as private security for the Nightshade family of Queensbarrow. He was killed by a congregation of wayfaring swashbucklers. John MacGuffin (Darff's great-great-grandfather) was an ice cream salesman, and was died of a stroke. His wife, however (Troot MacGuffin) served the Hinkerville militia, and was killed by a pack of roaming mercenaries.
Darff, however, resented the family business (and the doom it seemed to inevitably bring). Thus, at the age of 16, he set out on a teenage rebellion. He returned home a year later, having wasted all of his money to have a 3rd arm magically attached to his chest (it had seemed like a good idea at the time). Resigned to his fate, he enlisted in the Hinkerville guard.
It was there that he met 2 vagabond globetrotters: Kale Ecutel and Merri Roundbottom. Fearing that these would be the random strangers that would be his demise, he broke tradition and joined them. His new act of defiance was short lived, and after only several hours with the duo found himself cursed by an unpleasant shopkeep and in the Hinkerville jail, where he came to blame and resent Kale for abandoning him (while rescuing his Hobbit lover). Some time thereafter, Frigid Doom occurred, and he spent the next several millennia frozen. Shortly after thawing, he was rescued by the very man he had come to hate, and joined with his companions in the hopes of finding a chance to kill Kale.

Darff and Religion
Prior to his incarceration in the Hinkerville jail, Darff was largely reguarded as a non-believer. This is not to say he didn't believe gods exsist, just that they weren't particularily praiseworthy. He had rejected his families traditional god (Tutela, god of guarding things) in the belief that this particular diety had it out for him. After that, he hadn't bothered too terribly much with the whole religion business, and the gods seemed to find him unimportant enough to leave alone.
Shortly after joining with the Redemption party, however, he has had sever experiances that he would call "religious", and his beliefs have begun to change as a result. Suppel introduced him to the idea of a cosmis "Cobbler" who controls the entire universe and knows every action you take. Shortly after, a series of holes in the faberic of reality/gameality have aloud Darff to communicate to beings that seem to confirm this belief of Suppels. In seperate instances, he was instructed by voices from the holes that a)"Suppel is right. Help Suppel overthrow the Cobbler." and b)"The Cobbler is your brother." This knowledge has deeply troubled Darff (how can his brother be the most powerful being in the universe, and how could it be wise to overthrow this being?), and he is only now beginging to contimplate his new found religious beliefs.
