Bog

The Once and Future King

A very bad rendition of a troll, definitely not like Bog

After having been abandoned by his parents due to some perceived deficit in their child's intellect, Bog was discovered by a human family in a bog. Hearing the word 'bog' repeated numerous time in reference to where he had been discovered, the as-yet-unnamed troll assumed his name must in fact be "Bog." Bog, being a rather cruel creature, later killed his human foster family and went to seek his fortunes in the world. Soon after this, he was captured by EVIL and enslaved for his strength at Geshoundheit. Like many others before and since, however, EVIL underestimated Bog's brawn, and Bog was able to escape with the help of Dimensha.

Bog tends to be somewhat irritable and suspicious of others, perhaps owing to his own abandonment as a child, although he sometimes shows trust in others to varying degrees. Most of Bog's trust is reserved for Dimensha. Bog appears to be capable of empathy, as on occasion he sees a little of himself in others and has pity on them (as when he rescued Ralph from a swamp).

Bog is quite possibly at once the dumbest and strongest troll to be found on Shamina, and probably Terrek besides - which is saying something. He spent a several months as King of Norfacordia owing to the fact he pulled The Axe from the Stone it was lodged in, not by the providence of Prophecy and Destiny, but because of his amazing strength.

Bog speaks of himself in the third person, never using pronouns. He refers to other people not by their names, but by their relationship to him or some obvious characteristic they possess. Bog refers to Dimensha as "Bog's friend," for example, and Xy as "tiny man." Bog tends to use his own name as a question when he is confused. His name also functions to express surprise, agreement, or displeasure, depending on the tone. Bog never says "yes" or "no." Bog appears to be somewhat insecure about his intellect, and he has been known to kill for perceived slights aimed at his cognitive ability, although he is usually somewhat easily manipulated into thinking that he misinterpreted such slights (or at least into refraining from killing the person who made them).

Bog tends to make his displeasure known to other people very simply and bluntly. A favorite phrase of Bog's is "Bog kill," uttered in a calm but threatening tone.

Bog enjoys hunting, half-cooking, and eating Skunks.

He does NOT enjoy songs about digging. This one, for example, would upset him greatly.

Bog has a number of rules for living, mostly internalized during his early travels with Dimensha:

*someone put Bog's rules here, I don't have them*

Words of wisdom for dealing with Bog: "Don't make me think! I'm trying to figure out Bog!"
